Thread support
A clear way back.
Thread is local-only, so most answers are already on your device. If something still feels uncertain, send an email.
Email supportCommon questions
Does Thread sync between devices?
No. Thread intentionally stores data only on the current device. Use Settings → Data & archive → Export if you want to move a copy yourself.
How do I restore an archive?
Open Settings → Data & archive → Restore archive, then choose a ZIP previously exported by Thread. Restore merges missing or archived records without overwriting active records.
Can I remove old data?
Yes. Delete one moment or check-in from its editor, clear the selected day beside that date, or use Data & archive for a date range or all local data. Clear operations create a recoverable local archive first.
Why is a photo still in Photos after I remove it from Thread?
If “Save captured photos” was enabled, Thread also added the photo to the system photo library. Remove that separate copy in the Photos app.
Which devices are supported?
The iPhone app supports iOS 15 or later. The Home Screen widget requires iOS 17 or later.
When you write
Include the Thread version shown in Settings, your iOS version, and a short description of what you expected and what happened. Do not send private notes, photos, or exported archives unless they are essential to the issue.
